Journey in Victorian carriages behind an original Talyllyn locomotive, with a conducted tour, stops for photographs and a museum tour.
A unique day out for enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in the past
The Talyllyn Railway is probably alone in still being able to run its complete original passenger train dating from the 1860s, and invites you to enjoy a conducted tour featuring this unique train, travelling in the original coaches behind an original locomotive.
The train will depart from Tywyn Wharf Station at 11 a.m. It will make photographic stops, allow time for lunch, for forest walks or more photography as well as a visit to a blockpost (signal box). The return to Tywyn Wharf will be by 3.12 p.m where you will be served a cream tea in King's Licensed Cafe and taken on a guided tour of the Narrow Guage Railway Museum.
The trains run on certain Thursdays in the year, on the dates shown above. Available for hire at other times, please contact us for details.
Advance booking is recommended.
| Adult/Senior: | £20 | includes travel and afternoon cream tea |
| Child Under 15: | £7 | |
| Under 5: | Free |
TRPS Members travel at the child rate (which includes the cream tea) providing there is room after the full fare paying passengers have boarded. Members who wish to book in advance can do so at the appropriate adult/senior/child price. This is due to the limited capacity of the Victorian Train.
