Your help is needed with work in all sections of the railway - both in operation and maintenance.
If you are able to spare some time, please complete and return the booking form as soon as possible.
All bookings will be acknowledged - either accepting the dates that you have given or suggesting alternatives if there are too many volunteers already booked for a particular week.
Volunteers for Shop or Refreshment duties will be especially welcome and it is hoped that Traffic and Locomotive volunteers will also consider helping with this work.
You can also use this form to offer your services as Museum Attendant.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.
You will have seen on the previous page that people are very welcome to volunteer on the Talyllyn Railway and are not restricted to work in just one section of the Railway. To undertake traffic or locomotive duries you must be a current member of the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society. Most people start in the locomotive and or traffic and operating departments, but there are always plenty of other jobs to be done, e.g. in the cafes, engineering department and museum. You may well have other skills which may be very useful e.g. IT, gardening, painting, joinery - the list is endless! The TR's volunter co- ordinator (email adress below) will be happy to provide further information.
Please note that there are two booking forms, one for over 16 's and one for 14 to 16 year olds.
Volunteers aged 14 - 16 must always submit a paper booking form. This must be signed by a parent or guardian and sent to Wharf Station. Young people should note that previous experience of being a TR Tracksider or work on another railway will be very helpful.
When your booking form is received you will be contacted by one of the roster clerks or the volunteer co-ordinator who will send you details of the on line booking system TRops, a medical form and a volunteer information pack.
Please rememnber to write your email address clearly as bookings will be acknowledged by email.
New Volunteers should submit a booking utilising one of the booking forms listed below. Once you have started to volunteer on a regular basis, it is advised to make your booking using TROPS the Talyllyn Railways on line booking and rostering system.
